Abstract: The combination of art and technology may bring new breakthroughs in HCI research. Based on the research practice and creative work at Tsinghua University, the speaker will share his experience in combining art and technology for HCI. Two case studies, Mulan and Mojia, will be presented to introduce the concept of dynamic embroidery art and Chinese style robotic band.
Biography: Dr. Haipeng Mi is an associate professor at Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University. He received a Ph.D. in Electronic and Information Engineering from the University of Tokyo, M.Sc., and B.Sc. from Tsinghua University, in 2011, 2008, and 2005, respectively. He has published over 30 papers in the research of interaction design, natural user interface, robotic interaction, and interactive display and art.
